Three-point lighting

It's so standard in classic Hollywood from the 30's and 40's that it's practically assumed to be "standard".

It's dramatic and sets off the stars to look "beautiful".

Today we want the "natural" look but it's pure bullshit. The dramatic look is so much more elegant.

It's straightforward to set up in a photographic setting. I'm going to do it. You'll look prettier than you actually are. They knew a few tricks back then.
