Technical Photography Stuff

When I observe the photography statistics on my site, or the comments I get, I notice that people always talk about the "sharpest" picture.

Geekily, I always think, "Do you mean acutance or resolution?"

But I know what they are pre-conditioned too. On the web, it's acutance and contrast which generally has zero emotional component.

Now, I'm as good a proponent of great visuals as any but I'd rather see a picture with great content and not-so-great visuals over the latter. I find most modern photography very surface-driven -- technically perfect but emotionless.

I must be old-fashioned.
