Well, at the beach party a few weeks ago, I ran into a few physicists, and we got talking, and at some point the talk turned to summer blockbusters.
ME: Spiderman 2 was a great movie but the big ball of fusion bugged the crap out of me because everyone knows it's gotta be donut-shaped.
HER: Yeah, me too!
HOST: You are such geeks. OK, I'm a geek too. Why can't it be a sphere incidentally?
ME: It's just the Hairy Ball Theorem.
Everyone laughs. Lots of high-fives.
We are wierd. We have aged well. We accept it.
